We will always have theory X managers in today’s world unfortunately because their will always be different types of managing styles and behaviors and sadly it will have a negative effect in the workplace. “Managers with Theory x attitudes tend to have a negative, pessimistic view of employees and display more coercive, autocratic leadership styles using external means of control, such as threats and punishment (Chpt 2 pg.47).” I tend to believe that managers who categorize in theory x are for many reasons. It can be because they have witnessed and gone through that type of leadership style as they grew in their position. Or it can be from stressed and overload of work which causes them to take out their frustration on their employees which set off a chain reaction amongst the organization.
